Delivery and Collection
As part of our service, all wedding cakes are delivered personally to the venue to ensure your cake is perfect for your special day. We will liaise with the venue staff to arrange a time for delivery and set up time and to check that all arrangements for assembly such as cakes stands, knives and table have been taken care of. Our delivery and set up service is charged on an hourly basis and is determined by the travel distance and the time required for assembly of your cake. Delivery charges are quoted at the time of the order and included in the cost.
For celebration cakes delivery is free within the local area. For other areas, a delivery charge will be added, of which you will be informed of at the time of order. For those wishing to collect their cake, we will supply full storage and assembly instructions. Please ensure you allow yourself enough time to transport the cake safely as we cannot be held liable for any accidental damage to the cake once it has left our premise.
Cakes decorated with Fresh Flowers, Sugar flowers & Sugar models
Where fresh flowers are required for your cake, as part of our service we will ask for the details of your florist in order to liaise with them to ensure an exact match of flowers to compliment the bridal bouquet. We will then use these flowers to decorate your cake.
NB. Please be aware that some flowers are not suitable as decoration on cakes due to their toxicity. Please ask your florist about this when choosing your flowers.
Where sugar flowers are specified, we will endeavour to match the colours of your theme as closely as possible. Please be aware that it is not always possible to get an exact colour match with icing. Other edible and non edible cake Decorations
Often cakes incorporate decorations such as butterflies, glitter, diamantes and wire, for example. Whilst every effort is used to incorporate things edible, on occasions this may not be possible and it is your responsibility to ensure the safety of your guests by removing these from the cake before serving – we will provide details with the cake.
Photo Cakes
Reproduction of images – photo’s that are used for cake images should be provided to us as hi-res tiff files or high-quality jpeg files. We can also accept good quality pictures and photographs which will be scanned and returned to you. To obtain the best fit and proportion of the image for the cake, some editing and adjustments may be required, which we will carry out as part of the service.
Cake Stand Hire
We offer various types of cake stands for hire, such as traditional silver stands for tiered cakes and tiered Perspex stands for cupcakes. Please note that cake stands are only available if ordered with a cake and need to be returned to us within 4 working days, from the day after your event. Alternatively we offer a collection service from your venue for which a collection fee will be incurred.
If you wish to hire a stand from us, a holding deposit of £50 is required. This is held in your file until the stand is returned to us. Stands must be returned within 4 days. We don’t supply silver cake stands, though generally you venue will be able to supply you with this type of stand. For more details on prices and designs, please contact us
Lead Times
We will always do our utmost to accommodate all orders; however, in order to provide you with the best service possible, for celebration cakes we require 2 weeks notice, for Wedding cakes, we require 4-6 months notice to give us time to design and create your cake.
During the peak-season (May to September) we strongly recommend you place your order as soon as possible.
When you place your order with us, you agree that you have read and understood our terms and conditions and agree to them. By completing our order form, you are entering into a binding contract with us. Nothing herein affects your statutory rights.
Dietary Requirements & Allergies
For your safety and well-being, it is your responsibility to tell us of any food allergies or particular dietary requirements you may have at the time of order. Please check and ensure this information is included on the order.
Nut Allergy – Whilst our bakery do use nuts in our fruit and carrot cakes, to minimise risk of nut contamination, nut free cakes are made on different days to others and every effort is taken to keep the environment free from nuts and nut traces during production. Whilst we make every effort and carefully select ingredients, we cannot guarantee that our products will be 100% free of nuts as the manufacturers of the ingredients may still process nuts for other products.
Gluten/Wheat Intolerance and allergy – Gluten or Wheat free cakes are made on different days to other cakes and every effort is taken to keep the environment free from Gluten and Wheat products.
Asthma sufferers (Allergen notice) – Fruit cakes contain large quantities of dried fruit. Please be aware that many dried fruit products are preserved with Sulphur Dioxide, which asthma sufferers can react to.
Vegetarian diet – All of our cakes will be made free from animal fats. However, please be aware that we are unable to offer an egg free cake at the moment in time.
Payment
Celebration and Seasonal cakes require a 35% deposit with order. The balance is payable to provide cleared funds a minimum of two weeks before the delivery date.
Wedding & Civil Ceremony cakes & cupcakes require a 50% non refundable deposit which is required with confirmation of your order and must be cleared before any work is carried out. The final balance is payable to provide cleared funds a minimum of six weeks before the delivery date. For orders with less than 6 weeks notice, the full payment is required on confirmation of the order and is non refundable.
Non Wedding Muffins there is a minimum order of 12. For orders up to 24 muffins, payment is required with order. For orders up to 100 muffins, a 30% deposit is payable with order. For orders over 100 muffins, a 50% deposit is payable with order. Balances are payable to provide cleared funds a minimum of two weeks before the delivery date.
